The ability to show that we have the financial resources to maintain the J.B. Ford, and to properly dispose of any hazardous materials on board, is absolutely vital as we negotiate to have the vessel donated to the Society.  However, we realize that some potential supporters will be hesitant to donate funds towards a ship that we do not yet own.

Making a pledge to the Great Lakes Steamship Society is a risk-free way to show your support for the preservation of the J.B. Ford.  By making a pledge you are letting us know what you are prepared to give in order to help us save the ship, but pledged funds will only be collected after we have succeeded in gaining ownership of the vessel, and will not be collected otherwise. We are anticipating a decision from LaFarge on the Ford's disposition in the coming year.  Please pledge only what you will be prepared to give at that time.
